Today is Monday and I'm sitting at my dining room table contemplating not only how I start this story, but how I begin this new journey of my life. Like anyone else, I've had creative ideas that have inspired me to do things like write a blog or paint a picture and most of the time I put them on the back burner of my life. I then continue with the day to day activities that sustain that life and dreamily assume that 'one day' I will start that amazing project. So instead of 'one day', those two words have turned into 'today'. It's important to note that I'm typing this because of that pull, you know the kind you feel in your gut or in your soul, depending on which one you side with? I'm here for the same reason you should be here and that's to get in touch with how I can be my best self. I have spent my whole life living, sometimes really LIVING and then looking back, learning, and finally editing to move forward in a better direction than where I had been headed. So where all those life experiences could be misconstrued as the person I am, I like to think the person I am lies in the editing. Anyone who will gain something from my words will likely agree with that statement.
I don't know what initially planted my first seeds of wisdom, but I can recall infinite experiences that helped them grow. I hope that no matter where you are in your journey of unfolding and wising up in this life, that my words plant so many seeds of growth you don't recognize who you were before. Now is the time to take a quick glance of your life, take stock for a few minutes. Think of how far you have come, all the things you are grateful for, and all the things you wish you could change. Now let all of it go with a deep breath and the understanding that every day is in fact a day for change of any kind as long as you set your intentions. My intentions are to help influence your life to be more balanced and to help you gain the understanding that no one is in control but you.
What gives me the ability to do this? I believe something that no one can take away from me, that I have been gifted with wisdom before my time. If you know me on a personal level, it is likely you agree. My wisdom comes in many forms and faces and I find it in the knowledge that if I haven't yet figured it out, that somewhere out there someone else has and therefore so can I. Wisdom, being a continuous journey that never stops but definitely starts the moment you connect with your ability to evolve. So maybe we go on this journey together, each of us learning from one another and using every outlet we can to be our best selves, our most fulfilled selves.
In the last few weeks I have read so many more books, most of them have a similar theme as you will be able to gather, self development. I am going to be 30 in less than a year and it has taken me this long to realize a passion that has been there all of my life. I have always focused on how I can be better, a better worker, a better decision maker, and most importantly have better control. It has never been a story of how I can be better than anyone else, but rather how I can always be better than myself. Self development is the base for the direction we all should be headed. It may not be your passion, like it is mine, but it is the basis of where your passion can grow and where you find your balance. Life can seem so stressful and difficult sometimes, you just don't know what to do with yourself from one moment to the next. So this is where I tell you that if you want that balance, you have to be able to acknowledge that how you are living right now is not enough. It may seem simple, but to most people who find themselves stuck, it's not the easiest thing to say out loud that you have no idea what you are doing or how you will hang on. Not to mention that everyone should be doing a whole lot more than merely just 'hanging on' or 'going through the motions.'
Set your intentions for tomorrow. Take out a piece of paper and write down a reasonable set of goals for your day. Write down that you give yourself permission to be happy in how your day will take place and what you achieve. Let's remind ourselves that the process of evolving takes time and taking care of ourselves as the temples we are. I'm writing my tomorrow right now so that I don't walk into the day blind and unaware of what I should be truly trying to accomplish. This small step not only boosts your chances of really doing something differently than you did yesterday, but opens your mind to the chance for change. In addition, here is my list of books you should consider reading. Whether on your commute to work or before you go to bed, whether you read it on your phone or listen to it in your car, find a way to listen to some amazing writers guide you to being your best self.

Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis
Pick one, pick both, or find something that speaks more to you, but don't let yourself continue to walk alone in this life without some educated perspectives other than your own. Don't let anyone or anything including this life make you feel incapable of being that person you feel inside. More than that, don't let YOU stop yourself from excelling.
